Perhaps you ended on Beyond The Backdrop because you were looking for Mini Backdrops, or maybe you are hear because you have been following me for some time. Either way, it is time for a decision one way or another, and an explanation. I am moving on from Mini Backdrops.
It is not easy to end something, especially when that something ended up to be very sucessful, and even as I write this I have a lump in my throat. Some of you will know that a few weeks ago I posted on social media to see if there was still interest in the product…
And you guys…. you almost made me cry with the insane love you all gave! The response was amazing, and I can’t believe there are so many of you who still want a Mini Backdrop even though the shop has been closed for just about 9 months now. This just renforced how much of a good thing I had going, and what amazing customers I had.
As much as it pains me to say, my heart is not in that business. I have always been a person to follow my gut and my intution, and right now that is leading me somewhere else. I really believe I have an amazing opportunity right now, and a chance to influence change in a good way (I will be blogging much more about that over at The Equine Soul). My heart leads me else where.
I won’t say there will never be a return of Mini Backdrops. Me and my husband have discussed it many times, as he might have interest in running it himself, with my help of course. But at the moment it isn’t realistic, as there would be start up costs again, as I closed all my shipping accounts etc. They are all based on volume, and there is no way I could ship the products at a price that would make it worth it. But we might consider it more, look into it more, but I make no promises.
All that being said…
I have learned a bit about myself over the last 8 months as I have worked somewhat as a business manager/project manager over at Den Hele Ekvipage. It turns out I am pretty good at running businesses. Since starting I have managed to help them over double the amount of students they have in their riding school. I have greatly increased their pressence online and on social media as well. I also learned that if Mini Backdrops had continued, it was going to be a very very good year for profit. And you know what, I don’t believe I do anything special. I try to keep most of it pretty simple, but most of all I have this urge to share what I know with everyone!
Anyone can have a sucessful business when they slow down and remember to keep it heart based. Perhaps it is somewhat old fashioned, but you know what, it works. So I have decided to really start this blog up and give you a look at my life beyond the backdrop. I will blog about my experinces growing businesses, experince in project management, and will continue on where Mini Backdrops left off with being a place where other people and contribute as well because when we work together we get so much farther!
So I hope you are not too disappointed that this not an annoucement of a return of Mini Backdrops. I apologize. But I hope you will follow along in my journey.
